16. tammikuuta Lunana: a Yak in the classroom 

"I went to see #lunanamovie yesterday and it was so lovely. As I saw Avatar on Saturday I saw their similarities: strangers coming to a new place.

Both movies have beautiful sceneries the difference being: Lunana is real. I loved the messages both movies told about nature, families and caring. 

#yakintheclassroom also shared a question about the purpose of music. Why is it important for you? PS. I was so inspired by the movie that when I realized there was no article about it in the Finnish Wikipedia I created it." 

13. maaliskuuta Jope ite 

"This weekend #kangastus was showing a documentary called #jopeite. I didn't read any reviews beforehand and was very touched by the movie. 

As the title hinted it was a lot of talking by #joperuonansuu himself, even though it also showed his many voices and of course the voices of his nearest ones. 

His wife didn't talk much but what she said was pure gold. What a talent and artist he was. Hat off. The poster is genious too, hinting to his inner child he kept and his childhood, that was quite hard. 😭 "

20. maaliskuuta Hassisen kone - 40 vuotta myöhemmin 

"Oh gosh. Music can make you so happy. It was kind of hard to sit watching #hassisenkone40vuottamyöhemmin - I wanted to jump and dance instead."

"Barbie movie finally came to #kangasniemi. ♥️ Have you seen it? Can you describe it with just one word? Mine is fresh. 😍

Elokuvan ikoninen alkukohtaus (johon liittyvän kuvan löydät edellisestä postauksestani) taas kumartaa Kubrickin #avaruusseikkailu2001-elokuvalle.🐒👭🐒 

Kuvanikin vinkkaa silmää kohtaukselle, jossa pikkutytöt rikkovat lapsinukkensa nähtyään ensimmäisen Barbien. Mattel on itsekin valmistanut sellaisia! Löysin vastikään Mattelin #lilmissmakeup -nuken vuodelta 1988. Kiva löytö, en muista aiemmin näihin nukkeihin törmänneeni!🤩 

#Barbie-elokuvassa ei lapsinukkeja näy, mutta ehkä saamme vielä niitäkin nähdä, onhan Mattel kertonut tekevänsä tuotteistaan 45(!) elokuvaa. Jos ne ovat yhtä hyviä kuin tämä ensimmäinen, toivotan ne tervetulleiksi. 

#Luovuustilassa-lehtemme ilmestyy vasta marraskuussa, joten joudut vielä hetkisen odottamaan, mitä muuta elokuvan inspiraatioista kerronkaan.😊 Oletko sinä nähnyt Barbie-elokuvan? Inspiroiko se sinua? Minun alkoi tehdä mieli Barbie-korua, joka on mittasuhteiltaan kantajalleen turhan suuri. Mitenkähän sellaisen toteuttaisi...🤔 "

18. syyskuuta Lapua 1976 

"I saw @lapuaelokuva yesterday. The movie tells about a big accident / tragedy in 1976. 

The critics say it's like a Finnish version of Titanic movie, bringing a love story inside a true explotion event. In Finland #lapuanpatruunatehtaanräjähdys has not been handled with this way before and I'm glad they finally did it. 😭 

 The movie is very touching and I hope it reaches its target audience of 100k soon and then goes far beyond that. 🚀 "

Näin kävikin, elokuva oli yleisömenestys. :)

24. syyskuuta Oppenheimer 

"#oppenheimer tells about a historical #trinity project that changed the world for ever. My target is to avoid all reviews before a movie because I want to feel and understand movies myself. I almost succeeded with this movie until I partipated an AI webinar this week and one of the speakers wanted to refer to the movie. And not only to the movie but to its very last scene. 🙄

I just can't understand people who want to spoil the movie experience for others. It's easy to avoid reviews but how to prepare not to listen a speaker you don't expect to talk about movies?" 

29. syyskuuta Spede 

"Went to see #spedeelokuva today. I managed to avoid spoilers this time as it was the premiere, which is pretty rare for me. 

It tells about the life and career of #spedepasanen, who everybody knew outside whilst the inside was a bit mystery. The movie managed to capture some great scenes and it's full of the magic of 1970s style as well as great characters. 

Even if some reviewers have given it 1 or 2 stars it's not a bad movie but one that people who've watched his movies and shows will find interesting. As I don't want to spoil I won't tell which thoughts it raised but they are valuable thoughts indeed."

8. lokakuuta Indiana Jones 

"Went to see #indianajones today. I remember the first time I saw him: our teacher showed it us in the school party he used to arrange us. Bring your own popcorn and candy, watch a movie and play some hide and seek before the disco. Those were the times. 

The movie had its moments too and I was delighted by some of the scenes. But I was also happy about my yarn bomp, had a good opportunity to knit the test piece."

16. lokakuuta Ryhmä Hau 

"Went to movies and asked #dalle3 to create a movie poster for #fms_blackwhite. #pawpatrol is #ryhmähau in Finnish, a barking team. 

While most of the puppies seem to be boys, I was delighted to see a girl puppy as a main character. Also their main enemy was female. And not just any enemy but a #madscientist. 💥 Not the best kids' movie I've seen, but not the worst either, not even near. "

21. lokakuuta Kuolleet lehdet 

"Went to see #kuolleetlehdet #fallenleavesmovie by #akikaurismäki. It's the Finnish #oscarnominee and well worth watching. 

Enjoyed the music, the athmosphere, the nostalgy combined to war news from Ukraine. Bravo! 

After the movie I read about ten reviews and learnt about hidden gems of the movie that are hard to spot when you see it for the first time. Hint: they are for people who love movies. 

All in all the movie goes on very fluently, containing nothing without a purpose."  

27. lokakuuta Michael Monroe, dokumenttielokuva 

"He's gold. Went to see #michaelmonroedokumenttielokuva and oh boy. I've known #michaelmonroe ever since I was a kid reading her Suosikki from cover to cover. I'm also happy enough to have seen #hanoirocks on stage as a young adult. 

In the film a friend of his defines success: it's not about money but being able to do what you want. Looks like "Makke" as well as her mother are happy with his current life even if it would have been very different without all the dr*gs that messed up things. 

And I'm happy they made this document now and not when he's gone. Michael brightens up the room he enters, said a friend, and so did the movie." 

3. marraskuuta Valoa valoa valoa 

"After a busy day I went to see #valoavaloavaloa movie. It was a bigger movie I had thought, taking me back to my childhood in 1980s with the music, clothes & athmosphere. 

And the story. It went straight to my heart and will stay there. 😭♥️ "

Elokuva pisti minut lukemaan myös alkuteoksen, joten lisään tähän myös sen arvostelun.

"Had seen a short review of #tyhjyyspäiväkirja (2023) #kūshintechō by #emiyagi in mags and was curious to read the story. The story was captivating and I could not stop reading. I love reading about Japan and the story is something unique. Wow. 

I read #valoavaloavaloa (2011) book reviews from Instagram and found out not everyone liked the way @viljatuuliah talks to her readers in the middle of story. As I was warned I didn't mind that and as I also had seen the movie before the book it was pretty easy to follow the storyline. Also this book needed fast reading. Both of the books are a bit silly and they carry out important messages to all of us. Their common themes are loneliness and surreality." 

10. joulukuuta Killers of the Flower Moon 

"#killersoftheflowermoon movie, the last movie in Kangasniemi this year. A very long movie that kept me waiting for the next moves. 

A movie that raised thoughts about native Americans, money, eagerness and evilness. What a role for #leonardodicaprio. 😭 I thought the movie was based on a book but oh noes, the book is based in reality. Can't be nothing but sorry for what happened." 

28. joulukuuta It happened one night 

"Found a new favorite movie, #ithappenedonenight was so sweet and funny that I would be willing to rewatch it any time. ♥️ 

Did you know that #clarkgable's role (that ate carrots in some scenes) inspired #bugsbunny (#väiskivemmelsääri)?"
